The countdown for the Holiday season has officially begun, after news of the VS Holiday Commercial being shot. The much anticipated advert arrives every year as an early Christmas gift, and this year it comes straight from Paris.

VS angels Behati Primsloo, Lily Aldridge, Karlie Kloss, Candice Swanepoel and Alessandra Ambrosio all posted photos on their Instagram accounts of French settings, hinting at the shooting of the commercial. Behati and Karlie were amongst the most explicits, posting pictures on set. Adam Levine's fiance, wrote 'This is happening... @victoriasseecret #paris #vsholiday', alongside a photo of her wearing the characteristic enormous white wings, while the 21 year old beauty Karlie posted a video with the caption 'It's Midnight in Paris. Can you guess where I am shooting...'.

After the and Chicago's Lyric Opera House in 2010, the Prague State Opera in 2011 and Newport's Marble House in 2012, the settings for the 2013 commercial include the world famous museum Louvre, as well as other French landmarks such as the Pont Alexandre III. The dramatic settings chosen by the brand increase the buzz around the commercial every year, with Michael Bay, the 'Transformers' and 'Pain and Gain' producer, usually in charge of directing them.

Arguably the biggest start of the lingerie brand, Adriana Lima, didn't Instagram anything Parisian, but her fans can rest assured, as she posted a quote about love and captioned 'Paris here I come'. No word from Doutzen Kroes, another big superstar of Victoria's Secret, who seems to remain in NY according to her Instagram updates.

A contagem decrescente para a época festiva começou oficialmente com os rumores de um novo anúncio da Victoria's Secret. A publicidade que tanto excita os fãs da marca chega todos os anos como um presente de Natal antecipado e, este ano, vem directamente de Paris.

As Angels Behati Primsloo, Lily Aldridge, Karlie Kloss, Candice Swanepoel e Alessandra Ambrosio puseram fotos de cenários parisienses nas suas contas do Instagram, dando assim pistas sobre a filmagem do anúncio. Behati e Karlie foram das mais explícitas, postando fotos já na localização das filmagens. A noiva de Adam Levine escreveu 'Isto está a acontecer... "victoriassecret #paris #vsholiday' com uma foto sua usando as asas características. Já a modelo de 21 anos, Karlie, filmou um pequeno vídeo com a legenda 'É meia-noite em Paris. Conseguem adivinhar onde estou a filmar...'.

Depois da Ópera de Chicago em 2010, da Ópera em Praga em 2011, e da Marble House em 2012, o cenário de 2013 parece incluir o museu francês mundialmente famoso, o Louvre, mas também a Ponte Alexandre III. Os ambientes dramáticos escolhidos pela marca ajudam a criar o frenezim à volta do anúncio, geralmente filmado por Michael Bay, o produtor de 'Transformers' e 'Pain and Gain'.

Talvez a maior estrela da marca, Adriana Lima, não tirou fotos em Paris mas os seus fãs podem respirar de alívio, já que ela postou uma foto com uma citação sobre o amor, com a legenda 'Paris aqui vou eu'. Nada se ouviu de Doutzen Kroes, outra grande super estrela da marca, que parece estar em Nova Iorque de acordo com as suas actualizações no Instagram.

Personal |I'm back and what's next?

I'm back home for the last time this summer. After visiting my cousin in Paris, I went to Spain with my family and to the south of Portugal with my friends. I feel incredibly lucky for having had such an amazing summer and the opportunity to relax and spend time with my friends and family, but I'm glad to be back and ready to face some work time again!

My next challenge is finding a job (I've graduated!!) and I already have 8 job openings to apply to - wish me luck! Now that I'm done with uni - at least for a year - I'm also determined to spend my time developing skills and improving myself in general. I'll share my goals for this year in a post soon.

As for the blog, I'm MORE than ready to give it a 110%! Here's what you can expect:

Estou de volta pela última vez este Verão! Depois de ter ido visitar o meu primo a Paris, passei uma semana no sul de Espanha com a minha família e uma semana no Algarve com os meu amigos, daí a minha ausência prolongada no blog! Sei que sou uma mega sortuda por ter tido estas oportunidades de estar com a minha família e amigos, e ter tido tempo para relaxar e preparar-me para o que aí vem. Estou contente por estar de volta e pronta para dar ao litro outra vez!

O meu próximo desafio é arranjar um trabalho (sou licenciada!!) e já tenho 8 candidaturas para fazer - desejem-me sorte! Além disso, como não vou estar a estudar, pelo menos durante um ano, também tenho vários objectivos pessoais que vou partilhar brevemente.

Quanto ao blog, também estou pronta para dar 110%! Podem esperar:

It's been really hot in Portugal lately and I'm not exagerating by saying I nearly melted taking these pictures! The purchase of this dress was very spontaneous, as I saw it on sale for 15€. It's not the ultimate bargain but I fall in love easily... especially when there's a back cleavage involved! The sandals are the same as in the last outfit post as I'm addicted to mixing green with all my summer clothes! As for the clutch, I had no idea it existed in my house until I went through my mum's wardrobe - isn't that feeling the best? 

The post is divided in two parts: hair up and hair down. The first was necessary due to the heat, and I like it because it shows off the back, but at the same time, I love to let my curls run free. Help me decide?

Tem estado muito calor por estes lados, e não exagero quando digo que quase derreti a tirar estas fotos (apesar de já passar das 17h!). A compra deste vestido foi bastante espontânea, já que me apaixonei assim que vi o decote nas costas! Estava em saldo por isso até não foi um pecado grande... 15€. As sandálias são as mesmas que no último outfit post, dado que eu ando obcecada com elas e uso-as com todas as minhas roupas de verão! Quanto à mala, é da minha mãe e nem sabia da sua existência até a encontrar por acaso no armário dela. Sabe tão bem encontrar coisas assim, não sabe?

O post está divido em duas partes: cabelo apanhado e o cabelo solto. O primeiro foi necessário devido ao calor, mas depois não resisti a soltá-lo porque adoro sentir o meu cabelo nos ombros. Qual fica melhor neste look?

I'm off again! This time I'm going with my family to Málaga, on the south of Spain, and then I'm meeting my friends on the south of Portugal. I don't seem ungrateful or anything of the kind with the title, but I actually miss being home and do nothing. It's the 'we always want what we can't get' effect, but I'm sure it'll go away when I wake up with a sea view.

But attention - one more post is coming your way so stay tuned!

See you in two weeks! I promise to come back in full force once it's 'back to school' time, even though I'm not in school anymore - weird!

Film Friday | Marie Antoinette

As I told you in this post, I spent the last week and a half visiting Paris. I arrived early this morning, and as much as I enjoyed Paris and its shy sun, I'm more than happy to be in the Portuguese scorching heat again!

Whilst in France, I had the chance to visit the magnificent Chateau de Versailles. It's absolutely amazing but more on that later - today it's about film. Dazzled by the glamour of the royal residence, my cousins and I appropriately decided to re-watch the film I bring you today.

Marie Antoinette

 This film by Sofia Copolla, who's behind The Bling Ring, is definitely a gentle interpretation of Marie Antoinette's life. Nicknamed the 'Queen of Debt', she was beheaded after the revolution as well as her husband, King Louis XVI. The enormous amounts of money she spent on eccentricities led to her sad end, but this film will make you see the other side of it - a young girl forced to leave her home at the age of fourteen to marry a complete stranger and adapt to a whole different country and 'family', with a lot of other pressures in the mix.

The scenarios are amazing, as you can see a great deal of the palace and the gardens, not to mention the food, clothes and the shoes - designed by the great Manolo Blahnik!!

Como vos disse neste post, passei a semana passada a visitar Paris. Cheguei hoje de manhãzinha, e por muito que tenha adorado Paris e o seu sol tímido, estou feliz por voltar a este solinho quentinho de Portugal!

Em França tive a oportunidade de visitar o magnífico Chateau de Versailles. É lindíssimo, mas mais sobre isso depois - primeiro o filme. Como estávamos completamente maravilhadas, eu e as minhas primas decidimos rever o filme - bastante apropriado - que vos trago hoje - Marie Antoinette.

Este filme de Sophia Copolla, a mesma por detrás do The Bling Ring, é definitivamente um retrato gentil da vida de Maria Antonieta, a esposa do Rei Luís XVI. Apelidada de 'A Rainha da Dívida' devido às altas quantias de dinheiro que gastava nas suas excentricidades, acabou decapitada depois da revolução, assim como o seu marido. No entanto, este filme leva-nos a ver o outro lado da história, o da menina que foi forçada a deixar a sua casa e tudo o que conhecia para trás aos catorze anos, e adaptar-se a uma nova 'casa', com outras pressões à mistura. 

Os cenários são fantásticos, e dá para ver grande parte do Castelo e dos jardins, já para não falar da comida, da roupa e dos sapatos, que foram desenhados pelo grande Manolo Blahnik!!

DIY | How to make a Bday card from scratch

Ever since I moved to the UK, I've been converted to the widely used tradition of offering a card for one's birthday. When in Portugal however, as the tradition is not that common, there aren't many cards to choose from. For my cousin's bday, I decided to make my own and it turned out pretty good!

All I used was a bag from this shop called Kiko, because it was made from a shiny and thick purple paper. All I did was cut a piece of it and fold it in half. 

Then I decided to do the inside using Photoshop, but you can easily use another software or handwrite it - go mad! 

Because it looked a bit plain in the end, I used the strap of the bag to make a little heart on the front of the card. To secure it I used Superglue, which made a bit of a mess... I suggest you use another type of glue or be super careful not to put too much and spill it to the sides.

Desde que me mudei para Inglaterra, comecei a dar postais em aniversários porque lá é muito comum, e até existem lojas dedicadas exclusivamente a estes produtos. Como devem saber, a oferta de postais não é tão variada em Portugal, ou então sou eu que ainda não encontrei o sítio certo (se for este o caso digam-me por favor!). Para o aniversário da minha prima, aqui em Portugal, decidi fazer o meu próprio cartão personalizado e acho que até ficou engraçadinho.

Só precisei de um saco da Kiko, tesoura e cola. Primeiro cortei um rectângulo do saco e dobrei-o em dois. Para o interior, resolvi fazer uma montagem no Photoshop, mas claro que vocês podem usar outros programas ou então fazê-lo à mão! Tudo é permitido :)

No fim, como parecia um pouco simples, usei a alça do saco para fazer um coração. Colei-o com Supercola 3, o que sujou um bocadinho o papel. Para evitar isto, sugiro que usem uma cola diferente ou então que tenham mesmo muito cuidado para não espalharem a cola.
